Seen all over social media, the Starfiel Library is either depicted as this magical place or an overhyped touristy attraction. The truth is: it’s neither, or both.
First impression
I went there twice and the first time I thought to myself “Yes, it’s very much overhyped”. The library isn’t as big as the wide angle 0.5 lens used by most content creators would make you think. Depending on the time, it can feel overcrowded by tourists and their cameras. (Hypocritical I know, I’m also a tourist taking pictures with my phone).
But the second time, I went there to meet with a friend I met on NomadHer. (If you don’t know this great app to meet with other solo female travelers, check out my post about it.) More than the library itself, I enjoyed my visit of the CoEx mall in general. I arrived early, so I took some time to go around this huge place. I looked around some shops like MUJI and Uniqlo. While walking around I also found this Aespa photo set thingy that was super nice. I don’t know much about the group but it’s a great opportunity for fans to take nice pictures.
Once my friends got there, we got Starbucks without even having to leave the library. We enjoyed a nice chat by the Christmas lights. The place was definitely not quiet, especially for a library but it was still a lot more relaxed than a normal French mall. There is even on the 2nd floor some seats so you can come here and study. Personally, I’d rather go to a regular coffee shop that would probably be quieter, but it’s an amazing view to make some study with me videos.
Is it worth it?
So, is the Starfield Library worth your time? I would say that if you aren’t staying long and your agenda is packed, you can skip it. But if you want to stop by, it’s worth taking half a day to visit the few interesting things around the CoEx Mall.
